T. Michael Flowers life celebrated and honored

The link below is to the home going service honoring the life of T. Michael Flowers. Enjoy.

Reflections of T. Michael Flowers

I rejoice with all the saints at the homegoing of T. Michael. I spoke with my sister and some of the believers at Westlawn are planning to attend the services.

Your father was a remarkable man, one of the finest disciples of Jesus that I have known. A pioneer evangelist, planter of churches, husband and father. Can’t get any better than that. He really loved Jesus and they must have had a wonderful greeting as he walked into His arms. Safe!

Praise the Lord for you and your fidelity to the Gospel and to each other. I am so pleased to be a part of the believer’s clan!

Peace and joy,

Bro. Bill Pannell

I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing away of Pastor Michael Flowers who was my spiritual father and Mentor. He was a great man of God and an inspiration to us all. He is a great loss to all the people who know him. I will always remember how sweet and loving he was and I will surely miss him. God bless the work he started here in Kenya and the lives that he touched. My most sincere condolences to you all in the family!

Warmly In Him,

Pastor Marco Wakuze & Rose

We are so sorry to hear of and are rejoicing at the homegoing of Bro. Flowers.  Due to 93rd church anniversary activities previously scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 7-8, we will not be able to attend services honoring Bro. Flowers. Our prayers are with the family, the saints of the UBC, and Decatur Church family. Please express our sincere sympathy to all.

Pastor and Sis. George Washington

We remember with thanksgiving and praise the times that brother Flowers visited Bermuda many years ago.  I was a much younger man then and was encouraged and inspired by his ministry and manner of life.
We thank God for placing among us servants like him and we know that he  has gone on to be with the Master he loved and served for many years, leaving fragment memories befitting his name ‘flowers.’
This is a life worth celebrating and emulating.  May his family be encouraged.  Grace be to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  Ephesians1:2

Dean Furbert, Crawl Gospel Hall, Bermuda.

It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of your dad, Bro. Mike.  He was truly a great man among men who loved the Lord and sought to tell the good news of salvation.  Losing a father after so many years is not easy but God gives us strength for each day.  Please know that my prayers and thoughts are with you, Martin and the family.

Sorry, I will not be present for his home going as I just left New York last week to return to Geneva, Switzerland where I now reside.

Discover Emmaus Weekend

Praise the Lord for a great weekend at DEW.  Everyone is back home safely.  Please continue to pray for the youth as God directs their decisions on College. Remember Brittany, M.J., Darius, and Trent as they are all seniors and P.J. who has already graduated high school. (see student comments below)

From the Bunch

Thank you to SGMA for sponsoring the trip, I greatly appreciate it. From this experience, which I wouldn’t have been able to experience on my own, I learned much about the school. Never did I feel intimidated by this new environment. The friendliness of the students, made me feel like I was a student myself. And I learned much from sitting in on just two classes; abnormal psych. and a computer class. So once again, thank you SGMA!

– Peter Danvile, Jr (aka PJ)

Emmaus was really amazing and I’m glad I got the opportunity to take this trip. My favorite part of the weekend was getting to experience the family environment at Emmaus as well as getting a glimpse of what college might be like. I also really enjoyed the classroom environment because the classes were interesting and the professors kept my attention very well. Overall, the trip to Emmaus was great and I am really very grateful for the opportunity to be able to go.

-Sierra Hart

I want to say thanks to SGMA for giving us the opportunity to visit Emmaus. I had a really great time and I enjoyed all of the events. Emmaus will definitely be a choice in deciding what school I would attend. Once again thanks for the opportunity.

-Darius Middlebrooks

I had the best time at Emmaus. I am very much considering going to Emmaus now. It was very interesting learning how to program and learning about psychology. I have never got a chance to actually sit in on college classes, (and ironically it was better than regular school). The food was absolutely wonderful, but most of all, everyone I met or talked to was always so friendly. Everyone, and that is something that cannot be said about other colleges. I look forward to visiting again, and possibly attending later.

Discover Emmaus Weekend – Saturday

After a long night of games and fellowship,  the team will tour Dubuque today, and we will head back to Chicago at noon to fly back to the ATL.  Continue to pray for us and for direction for our 14 students.

War Room

Emmaus Bible College has provided 2 AMC theatre’s for us to view the movie War Room tonight.  Good time.

Discover Emmaus Weekend

It’s Friday morning and we have started the Emmaus experience. Here are some pics.

SGMA sends students to experience Emmaus Bible College

This evening at 9:15pm, a team of 14 high school students and 5 chaperones will fly out from Atlanta to the Discover Emmaus Weekend(see list of team below).  We will be met in Chicago by the folks from Emmaus and travel to the college late tomorrow night (a 3 hour drive).  They will house and feed us while we are there and will take us back to Chicago on Saturday afternoon as we travel back to Atlanta.

We ask for your continued prayers for this trip as we believe God has orchestrated something here that will pay great dividends to the 5 churches represented.  Along with a $1000.00 gift from Stewards Ministries (thanks Clifford!), SGMA’s investment will go a long way in the development of our “farm system” to use a cheap baseball reference.  Please pray that God captures the heart of the students to consider Emmaus Bible College in their future.
